Here's what I've been spending my time on with help from friends! The first photo was taken by Colin Mulvany of The Spokesman-Review. @avabirdseed and I were featured in @spokesmanreview yesterday for our creations as @the.botanical.alchemists 💜 We are so thankful to Shawn Vestal for the wonderful article! We ran out of flowers so we started using stones! The second photo shows the inner spiral altar. Community members keep adding to it and you are welcome to do so! . This is freedom from the ways we cause or add to our own suffering. We may be prisoners of our own minds and thought patterns. We may be prisoners of substances, habits, addictions. We may be prisoners of our jobs, relationships, or the life we have created. @avabirdseed and I created this bird (with help from a bunch of friends!) to symbolize freedom. I personally struggle with alcohol. For this bird symbolizes freedom from the suffering I cause myself with alcohol. The path I have come to see as best for myself does not include alcohol. In my past periods of abstinence from alcohol I did not attend community meetings. I had tried AA and it wasn't for me. This time I have embraced a community meeting called Recovery Dharma. This is is Buddhist base approach to freedom from suffering from addictions of all kinds. I absolutely love these meetings and the support I've found in this community. If you ate interested, there may be a meeting in your community. In Spokane there are meetings Monday through Friday at Soul's Center. We all have our personal struggles. May you find peace in yours! . In Spokane you can find this bird at Polly Judd Park where West 14th dead ends. We continue to add fresh flowers to the design and we encourage you to do so as well if you wish!! .
